Source: Gap sells Turkish brands clothes in remaining Russian stores
MOSCOW, Jun 22 (PRIME) -- U.S. clothes producer Gap has closed several stores in Russia but is selling goods of Turkish brands in the remaining outlets, a market source told PRIME on Thursday.
Izvestiya reported in 2022 citing consulting company CORE.XP that Gap decided to leave the Russian market fully, while 11 stores of the brand continued operating because of the company’s obligation to notify of unilateral contract termination three to six months in advance.
"Gap has not sold anything, they carried the stock balance from Russia to Turkey and sell it there, while taking new Turkish brands here," the source said adding that the store owner organization did not change.
